Ok, so the big sports story this month is about a report being released that stated Patriots QB Tom Brady knew about the deflated balls during the AFC Title game last year. With that info, the NFL decided to suspend Brady for the first 4 games of next year, dock the Pats 1 million dollars and a 1st Round pick.
Here's what I think about this:
I think this whole report is a bunch of pages that are full of nothing but hot air! Is there any physical evidence that the balls were deflated? Did the author of this report actually test the balls in question? I think not!
Now, I'm OK with the docking of a 1st round pick because the Pats usually trade out of Round 1 and still get some decent players sometimes. The million dollars fine is covered too.
But, Brady being suspended for something as silly as this? No way! If I were Brady, I'd appeal this "suspension" and play in those games. That's if the suspension holds, because what I'm hearing is that Brady is going to have a legal team present to overturn the suspension. I think the NFL should listen to that team and do the right thing.
If I were Brady, again, I'd come into.the meeting and say, nicely, "Hey, Mr. Goodell! You either overturn this suspension or I will sue the NFL cause this isn't fair, which may result in other jobs being lost!"
There are far worse penalties then just deflating balls. Spygate is one, but remember when the Saints dealt with Bounty gate? Saints players getting paid for injuring someone! Now that was wrong!
In conclusion, I believe in Brady. I think his suspension should, and probably will, be overturned. What do you think?
